How Many Coats of Sealer Does Saltillo Tile Need?

If the tile is fully exposed to the elements, then 1 coat of our oilbase sealer will seal the pores for moisture protection but will not have a shine (top coat) that can peal or be slippery. For all other uses, 2 coats are recommended prior to sealing while the last coat is done after install to seal the grout and cover any scratches.
